Weird Icon on IOS8 lock screen...

anyone encounter this? I thot iGV have hijacked my phone sia..




if you slide the phone from the bottom left corner..iGV app will be launch!

checked all setting but cannot find anything related to the bottom left icon...iGV app also no setting...

this is part of the Handsoff feature in iOS8, nothing is wrong with your phone

iOS 8 Offers Quick Access to Apps Based on Location - Mac Rumors

If you have other iOS devices on iOS8, try turning on bluetooth and wifi on both devices, 1 locked and 1 surfing safari. A safari icon will appear and you can swipe up to launch the page on the other device

Can be disabled via Location Services for App Store OFF i think

And this is not handoff feature because there is nothing to continue doing
This one is just suggest apps nearby with your location service enabled

yes you are right that this is strictly not "handsoff", but it gives similar user experience and apple has grouped them together in the settings page. "Handoff & Suggested Apps"

just disable the two options if you dont wish to receive such icons. Settings -> General -> Handoff & Suggested Apps

(btw do not mix continuity with handoff, they complement each other)

oh oh..you guys are right...I was near GV when I saw this!!

so what can I do with that? just suggested apps to open when near something related?

yes for now it just gives convenience to the user i guess. until people develop their apps around handoff to trigger certain special events
