This morning I arrived Haneda airport (cleared custom) at around 7am +/- 5 mins. The vending machine queue for the welcome suica is relatively short.

But the queue to exchange the JR pass was extremely long, estimated 1 hour plus if I were to queue.

So I went Tokyo station instead to exchange my JR pass. I saw a notice at the JR East Travel service centre (Tokyo station branch), the welcome suica has stopped its sales. So my guess is that tourists can only purchase the welcome suica from the airport’s vending machine.

Welcome suica card can use credit card to buy or only cash?

Tks
I didn’t went to look at the vending machine but then nowadays the ticketing vending machine for regular train and Shinkansen train tickets, can make payment via cash, Suica and credit cards.

Digital suica with iPhone is really a godsend. Reached last week and was contemplating if I wanted welcome suica for a few of my other travelling party members but I just did the digital suica for all of them with my Revolut card.
