Network Access Storage
seems like a good option.....is this expensive?
Does it mean cold storage area like server?
Network Access Storage
M-Disc is rated to last 1000 years.
Is this similar to HDD?
It is an external drive that you attach to your PC using USB.
But it is not HDD. It uses SSD, Solid State Drives aka no moving parts, just non-volatile memory based storage. Since it has no moving parts, its harder to breakdown.
However, the price/GB isn't as cheap as compared to HDDs.
actually there was a study done by google with millions of ssds and the conclusion drawn from the study was that a ssd fails due to its age and also a ssd tends to fail faster due to heat. the data reads and writes to/from a ssd does not cause it to fail
Is there any particular brand or specs for this?
Where can i get it?
Thanks.
