Sian...I still don't know what to study for my uni degree

Should I just go for my passion, or should I see which industry/career is booming/has more future prospects/lack of manpower?

Go with your passion.

If you do something you don't like, you won't be motivated to go to work or advance your career. Maybe when you hit 30, you're sick and tired of your job and wants to switch industry to something that you like, starting from the bottom again. You just wasted 8 years of your life for nothing.

The market will change. Industries that are booming or require manpower now may not be the same after you graduate. Do something that you like and one day, it might the the next big thing.

Just my 2 cents.

Follow your heart and passion in whatever u do. This is because so that u will work hard and put in effort for it if u have the heart and passion and plus the drive and motivation to do it.

I read from another thread that with the new SQP ruling, you don't need an accounting degree to be an accountant, a biz degree will do

Therefore, would it now be better to study an accounting degree or any form of biz degree will do?

i disagree with the the rest. It's more practical to get a job with good prospects. U can always pursue your interest in your free time. Since it's your interest, it's better to treat it as a hobby than a profession.

U can google it up. Don't expect to be spoon fed.

Your question sounds weird, what do u mean by "now be better"? U seem lost, u don't even know what are u asking. Just hoping that some kind soul will help u out without u helping yourself

Lols let me help to rephrase it for him although I have no intention on researching on nor answering his question.

He means:

Therefore, would it now be better to study an accounting degree or any form of biz degree will do?

Yes but non-accounting related degrees have to undergo foundation programme which consists of 6 core syllabus. Check the SQP website to see which are accredited degrees in Singapore.

SAA-GE offers Diploma, Degree and Masters Programmes in Business, Finance and Accounting:: Singapore Qualification Programme SQP
