Adss is wospec scheme for gbad
Awo is the officer scheme

For spec your roles generally involves leading your guys as a fire unit commander on the field for conventional ops
For duty ops it can vary

Tbh you might wanna sign up for a career talk because even for the same vocation, among different units the responsibilities vary a lot

(My apologies, Strawbelly. This is my first time using any kind of forum. I don't know how to reply to the right post. Hopefully OP is able to see this :S)

I was an ADWS(NSF ADSS if that makes sense).
My daily role in the fire unit was to maintain the equipment together with the ADSS and ADWO(men) so that everything is ops ready. Depending on the unit, the ADSS will usually operate and keep the equipment running during ops, while the AWO controls the weapon (firing) and communicates with intel side.

In short, ADSS is more on the ground, gets to service and fix equipment. AWO handles a lot of paperwork and planning.

I'm a degree holder who just sent in my app for AWO. It's been 3 days, haven't heard back from them. I'm also 27 this year, very afraid that I wouldn't be considered despite my NSF experience as 3SG in a gbad unit.
Anyone has advice or any insight at all on the minimum requirements for AWO?
