What is the difference between wireless@SG and wireless@SGX and how do i sign onto wireless@SGx?

I am currently using a Samsung galaxy J1 Ace/Amdroid and a friend of mine helped me to set up my wifi such that my android phone would automatically log-onto Wireless@SGx.

However, my android phone have not been able to do so even though the signal is strong.

well both are abt the same, one required u to login using web browser(Wireless@SG) another required u to pre-registered the login in your mobile (Wireless@SGx)

u can take a look at google, even the 1st post already can tell u wats the differences...

1. Have your registered for wireless sg account ?

2. Are you using SIM based or user id/password to automate the login for wireless sgx ?

Using wireless@sg is better than wireless@sgx. Some place wireless@sgx the password is not even synced properly.

For wireless@SG, you have to login using the web browser everytime you connect. But if you setup your phone such that the username and password is already saved onto your phone's wireless@SGx wifi connection profile, your phone can automatically connect to wireless@SGx everytime it is availablr without you having to login again. Somewhat similar to connecting to your house's wifi. :D

Yes Both are sames. SGx don't need to type userid and password.

Wireless@SGx" SSID network without the need for you re-login again.

You can download the guide to manually c onfigure your device

When the password is not synced properly it prompt that your password is wrong? I am having the same problem so stopped using sgx.

You can use Wireless Sgx with sim card or without(id+ password).

But do take note, some wireless Sgx hotspots do not support logins without SIM and it takes a few seconds longer to authenticate.

Wireless@SGx is using SIM EAP protocol. Login is granted based on your SIM card identity. Anyone with a valid Singapore Telco postpaid SIM card can logon to it, not too sure about prepaid. So if you have a active SIM, you can connect to it automatically after 1st configuration

Wireless@SGx can also be used on your laptop via SSA but need to input your Wireless@SG account credentials in your laptop. This is one-time and will get your laptop login automatically when there is network presence

Wireless@SG need to be registered and you will have a user name and password. Logging on will be via browser login with the credentials

For me, if Wireless@SGx fails, I will try Wireless@SG due to less login on the later network

Hope this helps

This link is good for wireless@sgx configuration. Can use SIM Login (no need to create wireless@sg account) for mobile phones. Works for any telco operator. For iPhone users, just download the profile from the website and auto connect.

https://www.imda.gov.sg/community/consumer-education/wireless-sg/support-and-feedback

IDA was restructured so the configuration links provided by the telcos were not updated and it took me a while to find.

can anyone tell me the settings to use to connect to wireless sgx? I don't want to download installers.

I need to know if you use PEAP/TLS/etc or MSCHAPV2 or any certificates and things.

My phone keeps disconnecting after 2-3 seconds.

Sorry you can't. They have discontinued login via user name/password login for sgx.

Otherwise you can use the SIM authentication method or install the wireless sg app and config from there

If you're using supported Android or Windows Phone device, just set it to EAP-SIM mode to login.

If you're on iOS, sorry, there's no way. You need to install the profile via IMDA website or through the Wireless@SG app
