Going to see if these are as good as what reviewers say

Ooooo, the SL120 are so bad???? I was thinking of getting their AL120s to change all my fans in my casing because of cable management.

The wires at the back of my casing is a total mess and these would reduce so many fan and argb cables running amok at the back.

Too bad they are weak, like that I might as well keep my cheapo ID cooling fans. haha

Bad in terms of usage for radiators. Especially 45mm onwards. It can barely push through if it is those dense fpi. Using it in this case would definitely have a impact to bring fresh air into your case. I ended up have to run them at least 1500rpm just ensure my coolant in the loop doesnt go 40degC.

However. If you are just using it for case fan, then you are pretty fine, so long as you do not have restrictive panel to block the airflow path.

In all, AL or SL, they dont seems to be good for mid thickness to thick rads. Slim rads such as aio rads or 35mm or less, then this fan will do just fine also.

Ah i see. then it would probably work in my scenario with the O11D as casing. 6 will be as case fans while 6 more as push pull for 1 AIO raid. thx man.

Not much difference between both. The first is in the fan blade itself. These AL's have a slightly wider blade which is how they were able to improve the static pressure from 2.54 mmH2O up to 2.62 mmH2O. They also improved airflow from 58.54 CFM on the SL120’s to 64.5 CFM which is a big step up. Honestly these fans are just average if you intend to use them for any serious cooling.

thanks man. from the price point, these are really not value for money. guess i'll stick to my current cheap id-cooling fans till something comes up that will suit my needs.

Anyone tried before the new ekwb x3m fans?
I was on them prior to swapping it out for the Adata XPG ones. My main reason were actually wire clutter on my Singulairty case and I could daisy chain the Adata XPGs. Performance wise, the Adata XPG were better with 3.15 mm H20 compared to the EK one at 2.75 mm H20. But the biggest difference was the sound. The XPGs on full speed were significantly quieter in the sense that it was having a more tolerable pitch. The X3M was like a chopper. I mean they are good fans not great. And usually the best ones now are all without RGB. So depends on your take. To some, RGB improves FPS. Don't ask me how. :ROFLMAO:

Casing Fan - after game ace combat.jpg

Just test my system under the following condition:

1. Non AC room
2. Sensor Minimum = System startup
3. Sensor Current = Idle
4. Sensor Maximum = 30 min of Ace Combat 7 gaming session
5. CPU 3800x = Undervolted
6. GPU 3080 = Undervolted

Phanteks Enthoo Evolv with Case Fan (Front cover removed) :
1. Front Casing - middle placement: XPG Vento Pro (120mm) connected to Water Pump header = blowing directly to GPU
2. Front Casing - bottom placement: Phantek original case fan (PH-F 140SP) = blowing directly to SSD & HDD
3. CPU fan = Cooler Master MasterAir MA410M
4. Cooler Master 140mm Air Balance fan for back exhaust

my summary was 3080 GPU really hot hot if playing without AC. UV is best for your GPU nowadays.

Your temps are quite good for air. You'll have better luck just swapping thermal pads as that will bring down the overall temps of your card quite significantly. Easy 10-12 degrees. Might as well do a repaste too. Depends how hiong you are.

many thanks, and wow 10-12 degree is really tempting :)

I am still not very good perform mod on pc parts yet, and at the moment still prefer not to risk the warranty

most probably will wait after 3yrs warranty expired and then try on it while could be 6080 generation replacement already hopefully that have resolve on shortage of GPU. :ROFLMAO:

later if I got time I will try another round of testing turn on AC and see any major differences.

Actually after you asked, I started checking out the temps. I feel the temps did drop, but again I wasn't able to test the same game to determine this. The best way I could kind of gauge how effective the mod went was by looking at a game that makes the GPU draw about the same amount of power. In Metro Exodus EE, it was stressing the GPU more and based on readings from Afterburner, it was pulling 10% more power on average, than when I am playing Control. I am skeptical if the T30 will solve the fan noise issue, but I think it should improve the cooling of the GPU by bringing the fan closer to the heatsink. Let's see when the T30 arrives and I have time to install it.
I managed to test out the temps in Controls for a like for like load comparison.

Stock cooler and fan - Max temps I saw was 69 degrees with the GPU fan at 50%
Deshroud mod with Vento Pro - Max temp I get is 73 degrees @ around 60 to 70% fan speed

Fan noise is slightly lower with the Vento Pro. I opened the case, and the air inflow from the bottom is immense as compared to previous fan config. But I think the air is not effectively flowing through the dense fins given the gap between the fan and heatsink is around 11.2mm.

The temps I see for the GPU is very decent actually. Considering the high boost clockspeed to a max of close to 2Ghz, the max temp with no AC is in fact impressive.

The 3080 on air 75degC is good enough already. As long dont go over 84degC i think is really a good job. I think if any one wants it below 75degC in a bad airflow case like enthoo evolv gotta look at custom water cooling already. lol

Actually we all can see, custom water cooling is the way to go for gpu ba. The benefits of direct die cooling is something very worth it imho.

Straight line boosting, no fluctuating, also dont really have to worry about over volting. But then again if one chooses to UV further becomes a much cooler card also haha.
