I think you better take a look at the itunes store before deciding.
To me, the movies aren't cheap, especially when you add up the episodes.
Good thing is you can rent the first episode and decide whether you want to continue.

The youtube function is good. You won't see the irritating advertisement on apple tv.

Anyway, fyi, I got myself one when it came to singapore.

It really depends if you have extra cash to fork out why not. else till there's ahem * jb * ahemz for apple tv i wouldn't really recommend it unless u spend alot time watching youtube/renting movie from iTunes.

U can, u are just mirroring what you have on your iOS, OS X devices onto your appletv that's all. That said I must first tell you, unless u doing home sharing via iTunes else it might be a little laggy ( for my case )

The videos aren't cheap (avengers costs $6 to rent for a day). Plus, the interface sucks when searching for videos on youtube. I can think of better things to spend $150 on.

I personally bought one for use in my classroom. I use it to mirror my ipad to the projector, allowing me to effectively 'write' on the board from anywhere in the classroom, freeing me up to circulate amongst my pupils. In that sense, it was worth every cent, but it is also a highly specialised use which is not applicable to everyone.

For me, the biggest draw is airplay mirroring. I rarely use it to watch youtube because whatever I want to watch, I stream on my ipad and mirror directly to my tv. I am also too cheapskate to buy/rent itunes content (for now, at least).

If some local company can come up with the equivalent of netflix or spotify, would be totally worth it.

I would said that last time the atv2 jail breakable is good. Coz of the xbmc... The icefilm is enough to make your sat and Sunday movie night.

Now with the Apple TV 3, find no point renting the movie.

For $99, it's worth it I think.
Well, you can put the iPad video to TV, and stream many videos&movies to it. And if you jailbreak it, you'll get Plex. With Plex you can also also add over a hundred video and image plug-ins to access a whole host of other media and image sources such as CNET, Hula, CNN, MLB.com, YouTube, etc. " Very amazing?!
Now the Apple TV is working as my family home movies centre very well with handbrake and iFunia's help...

- AirPlay

AirPlay itself is already worth e price of e ATV for me.

But airplay mirroring is laggy on my non fiber broadband. If u have a lot of media in yr itunes,it can be useful.

b) ) airplay mirror iPad video apps or video websites to watch movies and TV shows (e.g. Crackle; Netflix; ABC; CBS; NBC; Fox TV; BBC iPlayer channels)

By the way, u don't need to jb Apple TV to watch Netflix, Hulu etc...
All you need is to set up a US account, and get EITHER a VPN-enabled router or subscribe to Unotelly. I use Unotelly and now, I feel like I'm in America or UK watching TV every day.

AirPlay mirroring used your router, and is independent of Internet speed. If it lags, you may need a better router. For instance, it works in a router without Internet access, or in a pinch, you can tether from your smartphone.

I use multiple Apple TVs around the house for music.

1. I can play music from any Apple device.
2. Virtually any Apple device can function as a remote control.

My only gripe is that it doesn't use a regular 3.5mm audio jack. Instead, I found myself having to either
1. Buy speakers with digital inputs
2. Buy a digital to analog converter.
