hi guys, just a quick question here.

I bought the new apple tv from one of the local shops.

There's no netflix on it. Will it appear if i just connect the apple tv to a VPN?
Or do i have to do some sort of firmware flash?

Please advice.

You should get netflix once you change your country settings to the US. No need to jailbreak or anything.

However, to subscribe, you need a credit card that is registered to an address in the US, I think. A friend of mine was trying to work around this limitation, and he succeeded (kinda), though he complained of extreme lag when watching netflix.

thanks. got netflix after changing to US under itunes setting.

i'm using unotelly DNS service for netflix and the speed is pretty acceptable. no lag, although much faster on pc

Do you guys have any update error for the latest update?? Mine just download takes a long time to update then show "the update is unsuccessful, please restart your apple tv" restarted many times and tried also failed.

Are you using wired connection? If yes, try using wireless.
Personally haven't updated mine yet...
