Finally found a review with more details on #LGHOTCURVES.

Seriously all along my impression is for aesthetic reason only.

http://www.digitaltrends.com/cell-phone-reviews/lg-g-flex2-review/

Is it only there for aesthetic reasons? Initially, I didn’t expect it to be anything other than a gimmick, but I was very wrong. The curved screen makes the phone tougher than those with flat screens, and it’s better equipped at absorbing shocks. It also places the microphone closer to your mouth; LG says voice calls are several decibels louder on a G Flex2 — and sure enough, everyone commented on how clear my voice was on the phone.

The real surprise came when using the phone each day. The G Flex2 may not be as massive as its predecessor, but it’s still big. The screen measures 5.5 inches, and the body is slightly larger than the LG G3. Yet the curved display made it easier to stretch a thumb across it, and the device is considerably more comfortable to hold and use with one hand than the G3. The curved screen made sense, something I didn’t really expect.

The surprises didn’t stop there either. Curved TV screens are supposed to offer a more immersive viewing experience, but I didn’t think that would translate down to something with a screen a tenth of the size of these impressive televisions. Here’s the shocker: it does. While watching streaming video, it did have a different feel to it. I’m not sure I’d call it immersive exactly, but it was definitely more cinematic. It made me want to go out and buy a curved TV.

Flat screen phones felt and looked old, boring, and a bit cumbersome after using the G Flex2 for a few days.

more tough.. interesting.... so far nv see a curved screen cracked:s13:

BUTTON back or side not much a problem now.. got knock code mar;)

Button at the back is useful, then can have fingerprint sensor lol. Added feature is always good, somemore for future development in payment or authentication.

Can knock knock, can fingerprint - best of both worlds!

gimmicks lar.... If they can use sapphire for screen then is break through

I came across an article that they didn't use sapphire in phones because they aren't really unbreakable.

Maybe breakage is not the biggest problem since glass screen can be replaced cheaply as compared to investing in sapphire.

Lol yes that's the advantage of microSD card slot :s13: I can't believe Samsung removed that important slot because it seems that S6 could be just another nail in Samsung's smartphone coffin.

Read: Samsung Galaxy S6 sales reportedly fall short of expectations in South Korea

Good luck to Samsung.
LG FTW!~ :s12:

LG G Flex 2 is the first smartphone boarding snapdragon 810 chipset.

That time hearsay 810 is prone to overheating. Not sure how it is in real life. Any comments from G Glex 2 owners? :o

To think they were mocking at Apple not too long ago~ :o

From same review on self healing back:

I’ve had the phone in my pocket or bag for about a month, and the back panel has picked up a couple of deeper scratches that go beyond the self-healing coating, meaning they haven’t filled in. Worse, one scratch has turned into a scar, where the covering around it has started to peel away. It’s not pretty, and it’s almost like there’s an annoying sticky plastic covering that’s not been removed from the back. It makes me wish I’d stored the phone in a case.

This proves that self-healing though the G Flex2’s rear panel may be, it’s far from indestructible. We’d recommend being just as careful with the phone as you would any other expensive device.

For those interested in know more about lg poled screen used in LG G flex2

http://news.oled-display.net/lg-display-explain-plastic-oled/

maybe hwz can do a video related to LG Gflex 2 screen :)

Hopefully, had a moment too short with LG Gflex 2 demo to judge the differences from amoled. Read in the mentioned link, that plastic substrate can't stand high temperature, and LG Display developed a more stable one based on PI/polyimide with chemical stability. Probably precaution against the heat issue for Qualcomm Snapdragon 810??

Will it be cheaper to have rugged case fit the phones? Usually rugged dun look nice for phones and the first impression already lose appeal Liao.

Got to see the threshold of the POLED display, maybe can start googling results of cracked LG G Flex2 screen.
So far I haven't seen anyone using the G Flex2 though... so wonder if anyone has owned it long enough to crack it :s13:

Anyway, why cannot adjust volume in call? I guess maybe less intuitive but still can bah... Usually I adjust before the caller pick up anyway...
