It's not about the amount, it's about when you need the money and how much risk you can stomach.

depends on your appetite, if you want to grow your 30K, maybe you can consider investing in stocks, high risk high return ma.

I do not understand why people like about Singapore Savings Bond. The return is only like 3% for longer renure.

Put 10K in CIMB Fast Saver Account as someone suggested. Interest 1%
Put 10K in Balance UT like First State Bridge, Advantage etc. Return around 6-8%
Put 10K in Growth UT like Aberdeen Pacific etc, Return around 8-12%

so, this will give you around 5% return conservatively.

Aberdeen Pacific return 3.29% PA for past 3 years. Where is the 8-12% you are talking about?

Aren't there risks for those 8-12% or chances that they only pay you 1% because many conditions not met?

Better read your prospectuses properly, from page 29: http://www.aberdeen-asset.co/static...e5ae9f9/3/63460-cd-2018-select-prospectus.pdf
Most of them did miserably compared to their benchmarks.

Not to mention a ~1.75% expense ratio and a 5% sales charge.
