it's worth to keep miso at home.

instead of opening up a packet of instant noodles, if have time can cook the above (boil water, throw veg inside. Once veg cooked, add miso, then throw in noodles (noodles ideally put in a big bowl and soften with hot water first for 2 min before throwing into soup. Purpose to remove excess flour / dirt), and finally add mushroom and tofu if want).

cost:
1/2 smaller size carrot $0.10 (NTUC or Giant sells loose carrots that usually I buy 2-3 to keep)
cabbage $0.20,
noodles $0.50,
mushrooms $0.20.
Some leftover meat that I saved previously from a bigger packet.
Total about $1 without costing in miso.

*I tried many different miso before and find the below is the best (i got it from Donki). Fragrant and not too salty (i use 1 tablespoon for 500 ml of water):

My brother dropping by and told me miss eating my mum's style of prawn tanghoon.

Costing per pax:
1. rice: $0.20
2. tang hoon: $0.50
3. 7 prawns: $1.40
4. asparagus: $2.50
5. misc carrot/garlic/ginger/spring onion: $0.60

about $5.20/pax

*unhealthy dish coz cooked the soup stock with prawn heads (and I avoid cooking meat that comes with 'eyes' coz I feel nauseous when handling these). Only will cook upon request.

usually I buy 600 gm for $2 kind of common veg (chye sim, nai bai, kai lan, spinach, etc) but brother seldom comes and so cooked less common veg for him and asparagus is much more expensive (贵族菜):

No meat? Like this not full :frown:

was thinking of whether to add 200 gm of chicken fillet but the wong bok quite big at 800 gm and worried too much food and so left out the chicken to have the meal as vegetarian.

eat veg can feel quite full wan (the veg in the plate is just part of the serving. The pot still had a lot to refill.). :)

Not sure whether available elsewhere as I will get it from Donki.

This one has a deeper fermented taste like alcohol/wine (can't really describe). Many others I find them 死咸。:sneaky:

Can try.
