What to expect for first ICT?

Hey guys, I'm going for my first ICT (low-key, 6 days) next month. Mindef didn't send me any SAF100A but I found out about it through the NS portal. What should I expect? The portal only said to be in number 4 and to bring headdress and FBO. Does this imply that I'll be staying in camp for those 6 days?

What's your vocation? Depending on it and your unit, it may be your first ICT but it may or may not be your unit's first ICT depending on whether the unit is by batch (ie the unit will stand down when most of the men in there are finishing their cycles together) or is evergreen (ie men keep getting posted in to replace the numbers).

ITI = Infantry Training Institute. I was in almost always in ITI during my ICT days.

People who posted there were mostly from the Infantry Regiments. (I was from 5SIR last time). U will most prob be doing this u did during your active days, unless they decide to send u go do conversion course to another vocation.

Since u was an auto tech, my guess is that u will probably join the MT line bah. But ITI vehicles seems mostly managed by outsourced company (Comfort delgro IIRC). So not sure if there are still NSF or NSmen auto tech in the camp

Bring enough coins to buy drinks from the vending machines conveniently located around the camp. The Cobra Mess is quite a distance from the Bunks.

FBO means bring all your barang barang to camp lo. My time in ITI is stayed in, Nights off are given at the discretion of your CO, OC or PC

Yes there is a big carpark for reservist men, parking there isn't a problem

Either u will be doing auto tech stuff, or the lowest denomination will probably be doing admin and miscellaneous work, etc.

Car park should not be a problem for most if not all camps. Just try to avoid parking at places where they specifically say not to.

Is there even a MT line at ITI? Nowadays v diff. Last time almost every batallion will have a maint coy. Now they decentralise into whats called forward maint base & each FMB handles vehicles from several camps depending on location.. If there is one near ITI i guess u will be sent there but even then its odd, cos u should come under their strength & not ITI's.
