You are right. I have been asking myself the same thing. The only thing I came up with is to invest in blue chip corporate bonds and hold till maturity.

Actually, hold cash -> inflation: is okay in the short term. Inflation is a concern only in the long term. If are trying to time the market, staying in cash is okay.
