What's with all the virtual home button?

I also saw a lot of people using phones with shattered screens.. Curiously, most are women too. Is there a pattern that ladies are less careful with their phones?

Use virtual Touch ID sensor as home button no need to press just touch it will go main menu etc

i've never used it, and i never had a button issue since my first iPhone.
my entire family uses them until they are in such a bad shape - yet the button is fine.

i do, however, only noticed that people who use them - say that their button is spoilt.

so not sure if
(1) use assistive touch = no constant button usage = button becoming rigid = button becomes unusable.
(2) or they very chor-lor

Home button too far to reach when holding your i6+ with 1 hand. Assistive Touch requires 2 clicks versus 1 of Virtual Home and Virtual Home can bring up multitasking which Assistive Touch cannot.
Above reasons why I use them.

i used the physical home button for ip4 n my button got spoilt after a yr's usage.

used the assistive touch for my ip5 n the home button doesnt spoil after 2 yr's usage.

so for my ip6+, im just continuing what works for me. although i find myself use home button more partly bcos of the need to scan fingerprint.

i use the assistive touch on my iphone 6 plus and ipad mini. started using it in my ip5 2yrs ago, it doesn't bother me at all. guess it's a matter of preference

of cos i expected the home button durability to improve with every new iphone but it has become a habit for me. besides, it doesnt really block the screen esp on the ip6+. sometimes i find myself looking for the assistive touch button when i need it. n as i mentioned, i find myself using the home button more now bcos of unlocking by fingerprint.

just bcos u find it annoying doesnt mean everyone should stop using it. there's a reason why apple rolled it out on ios in the first place.

Noticed that too. Not surprised as most ladies are glued to their phone even while walking. quite a nuisance sometimes. over usage lead to accidents of both people and device.

Because they all remember how undurable the iphone 4/4s home buttons were. So even now with the improved buttons, they wanna play safe.

In my experience, my iPhone 4 button became a little unresponsive in its 2nd year of usage. However, this became a non-issue for my iPhone 5. I guess Apple improved on it. And no, I never used Assistive Touch.
