it’s written right there in e release notes in e screenshot.

there is no option to turn off dark mode just on whatsapp though. so it follows your iphne dark mode setting

I saw on Twitter by a user on how the bubbles in dark mode looks kinda the same for both the recipient and sender messages for people with colour blindness and deficiencies.
