All along my whatsapp set to Daily backup will automatically backup almost every night.

Recently it started to not do that anymore and needs to be manually back up.

Even so, the backup process cannot be interrupted like i.e. Going into standby mode etc. It will prompt that backup couldn't complete.

Only way is to backup manually and must keep screen on throughout the whole process without doing anything else.

Checked all my settings still same and icloud storage still plenty.

Just realized my icloud backup for the phone also hasn't been automatically backing up too

My WhatsApp also have this problem. Always have this badge under settings and say that backup could not be completed due to insufficient space when I have plenty of space in my iCloud. What seems to be the problem? Mine is set to Weekly. I think the prompt suggest to set it to monthly (reduced frequency). Maybe u can try reducing the backup frequency

Mine didn't prompt me about insufficient space. it just ignored the Daily backup until 1 week later, a red badge at the settings icon will tell me it has been a week since it was last backed up...

Did you all check if you have sufficient storage space on your iphone also? Sometimes wont be able to back up if iPhone storage has no space either.

It could be due to lack of Wi-Fi available.

From what I know, WhatsApp only restores/backups on Wi-Fi.

Same problem here. Previously auto backup weekly no problem, now need to manually backup also. Backup file size only 2GB+ and got >20GB storage on iCloud left. Dunno what’s wrong..
