When first received MacBook Pro..

Hi folks,

Googling and reading online also on this, as I've ordered a refurbished MacBook Pro 2015 from Apple. First time using MacBook Pro.

What are the things you guys do when you first get the machine?

What about accessories, recommended software to install, any maintenance (Mac need meh?) tips...?

first thing i do is to enable:
tap to click
dragging without drag lock

install Alfred, SMARTReporter, Clipmenu, AppCleaner, iTerm, Caffeine

I think one of the first thing you can do is look into the powerful Finder (folder management application), they're extremely useful to use once you have get used to it.

Hardware wise, unless you're thinking of selling next time, I personally think you don't need a case (as MBP is very durable itself).

Alfred, coconut battery, omni disk sweeper are some of the apps I like. Coconut battery not very useful for now but great for monitoring iPhone battery too.

Keynote is also great. Personally I avoid PowerPoint. Ulysses worth considering.

Do carry out research before installing any paid apps though.
