Desperately need help with local warranty set mi6, can't use android Pay. Anyone tried using Android Pay at McDonald's or fair price? Went Xiaomi service centre they don't bother to help or check, Google tell me to go to my uob bank Visa card while uob says no issue. Never alter the rom before
I've not verified myself but is your wallet setting on HCE wallet?
Default app setting?

Sent from Xiaomi MI 6 using GAGT

Wah Xiaomi customer service called me earlier, said Xiaomi China mentioned Android Pay should work. However when the the guy who called me tried on their Mi6, they cannot get it to work, epic failure. He asked me to wait for MUI 9 which is out soon lol

Check your bootloader. It needs to be locked for Android pay

Do you mean official Local Xiaomi warranty set have their bootlocker li locked by default? If so then it is really ********. The best is Gladwin from the XM SG email me to flash my rom to global stable to see if it works. To me as a consumer, it is a bit ridiculous to go through all these technical steps just to use Android Pay.

The guy at XM service centre actually called me and tell me that Samsung also has issues with NFC related issues with Android Pay.

So Xiaomi proves that they can only worth to be a media consumption phone that cannot be relied on to do mobile transaction.

I used Safety Net Test and all passes.

Are they sure the fix is in Mui 9?
Been using Samsung with both Andriod pay and Samsung pay. Never has an issue so far.

bootlocker is since Xiaomi Redmi note 3 days. This is for security. Not sure if this affect payment program. But I know rooted phone does not work with most banking application. This is for your security.

All new xiaomi phones in past couple years had locked bootloader. Local set should be global stable by default why still need to flash rom?

What do you mean by standard local firmware?
Where did you purchase your mi6 and please screenshot your "about phone"
If you purchase from official mi store, the android pay should work.

There's only 2 type of roms. Global and China stable rom. I believed both have no issue with Android pay. Unless you are using developer rom.

I missed your input. Thanks for sharing. This is quite frustrating to know that the standard local firmware doesn't work any better than the global rom

There are also EU ROM which basically is a modification from China dev ROM.

Local authorized set. even the local service centre their own set can't get Android Pay to work. I hope your question is not targeted at me, I am as clueless as you.

Like I mentioned, the set I bought is local Xiaomi set, meaning go to service centre here warranty is covered. MIUI Global 8.5 stable 8.5.1.0 (NCAMIEG) with Android 7.1.1 NMF26X. The local Xiaomi service centre guy used their own sets to test and they also can't use Android Pay. This is China product, so I expected China quality lol

Yours is exactly the same as MIUI & Android version as mine, just that mine is an export set bought, not local warranty set.

I never trust their local service centre. All they do is repair. Hardly able to advice you if this is really a bug or setup issue.
Suggest you try the NFC with other NFC device first to confirm NFC is in fact working.
After that, you can try to uninstall the Android pay application then re-install again.
