Don't know why they go through so much pain for their cheap phones.

If it's like iPhones, then I can understand, since its several times more expensive than theirs.

The logic given in their official forum, for in case thieves unlock the bootloader and what not, hence the 72 hours; I find it ridiculous.

*Sigh*

Anyone here running custom roms? Looks like its quite different back when I was running Omnirom/Paranoid on Samsung.

There are some custom ROMs but still very new so quite buggy. The closest to stock is EU ROM which is basically China ROM but removed all China bloats and support rooting since you hv to install TWRP recovery. If you care abt Android pay, you should definitely install EU ROM and magisk with safety net fix module. Magisk acts like SuperSU

The 72 hr wait was probably longest wait in my life but that's how it is now with new phones as old version unlock tool doesn't work on new phones any more.

Yeah I know about Magisk. Although I left Android for a few years, I been tracking development on systemless root.

I want to root Lineage or Omni or any of those close to stock roms as soon as possible.

Think my priority is TWRP then follow by Magisk as you mentioned.

Rooting makes Android much for tolerable for me.

m union.

128gb blue color after $100 off is $575.

64gb - no more blue color. add 1 mth warranty and safety mark charger to make it $601 and after $100 discount is $501 for black and white color.

wahh the 128gb blue is tempting.....

That I completely agree. I like the small size too and the design. They manage to squeeze in OIS and no camera hump in such a small phone. The nearest competition in terms of price I think is OnePlus 5? And the Mi 6 does a few things better than OP5.

Get the ceramic la. At least it's useful with the scratch prove back. Paying so much more for color is ridiculous but what do I know

Exactly, I am a big fan for blue but when I see the blue frame on front plate it makes the screen looks smaller. So I decided to go for black also.
