When is the right time to buy previous versions iPhone?

Hi everyone

As we approach iPhone 17 series launch, I realised those small mobile shops are selling new iPhones 16 series at 20% lower than Apple retail price. Interesting iPhone 15 series are selling at about 25-30% discount from retail.

I am wondering whether the best time to buy is about 3 months after the new series launch? Will we get best bang for buck buying 1 series before latest or 2 series before the latest? Seems like the value for money is like buying 1 series older.

Any thoughts from all the experts?

i bought ipad pro m4 few months back during 6.6 sale, got discount. original price $1,799.00 i bought it at $1,609.00 at Shopee.

Best is the ipad pro i bought cannot be turned on, have to bring to apple store to do a 1 to 1 exchange. luckily apple honor the warranty, furthermore the ipad not activated.

Based in my experience. August is the best time to buy.
