When to apply for overseas universities?

[JonaMona]

Hi all, I'm serving NS now and I just got my results earlier this month. Can anyone please tell me when can/do I apply for overseas universities? Must I do it this year and then ask them for a deferment for my NS or do I wait until next year to apply for entry in 2016? Thanks!

I think this is more relevant to academic section actually.

Which country are you looking at?

Primarily the UK

Primarily the UK

For the UK, if I am not wrong, UCAS only allows you to defer for one year. So if you want to enrol say Autumn 2016, you can start applying when UCAS opens it's application later this year, for entry in Autumn 2015, for deferred enrolment in Autumn 2016.

What about scholarships (e.g. PSC)? Do I have to apply for everything this year?

If you think you deserve the PSC scholarship, you should be going to PSC's website to check yourself if not contact them. If not I feel that you don't deserve it. There's no spoon, period.
