Where do you get your GPU from?

Gigabyte store on Lazada now selling 6700XT $689 with local warranty, looks like prices here might be falling too. Also suddenly got 1650 Super local stock on Lazada appearing out of god knows where after so many years, still not worth it at $350 though.

Feels like they're testing the market because those cards are worth way less than that, being anywhere from 10 to 50% slower than the RTX3050 which is just $100 more, so I'd still hold on for prices to fall further.

Just wait lor, or buy AMD if you can't wait. Confirm they have to drop price to compete eventually. You only really need an Nvidia card if you need NVENC, for gamers AMD is a perfectly viable alternative.

What would be the difference between a top tier and a mid-low tier card? Performance wise should be similar cos based on Nvidia architecture - do you mean in terms of cooling efficiency / design and quality of components? Does it make a lot of difference to be paying $200 more for an Asus 3070? Not challenging your statement, asking because I don't know. Thanks

GPU temperature also depends what case you are using also.
For RTX 3070 can be really hot so for best temp, best would be inside a ATX case.
Small build like ITX or SFF the temperature can be very high.

3 fan or 2 fan is a important factor to consider but if the case you are using have bad airflow
than the GPU temp will still be high.
Which CPU are you pairing with? Don't tell me is a Intel 4th generation?
Which I will not recommend to pair for example Intel i7 4790k with RTX 3070.
Graphic card brand can consider MSI, need not ASUS since their GPU are usually expensive.

PS avoid buying from Caurosell sellers, if some don't give invoice/receipt it is a red flag
especially for new sets. If they don't give invoice, the GPU maybe imported from someone
or second hand.

Safest place to shop for a $800 GPU will still be Sim Lim Square since the stock are new
with invoice/receipt for 3 years warranty claim. Caurosell wise, if no invoice/receipt means
seller warranty but there have been a scammer in the past who sell GPU but never deliver.

Carousell sellers unless they have invoice/receipt than they are legit sellers.
Zotac 5 years warranty you must have the invoice/receipt than register after purchase
for the additional 2 more years warranty.

If never register the card will be standard 3 years warranty.

Bizgram pricelist for ZOTAC RTX 3070 Twin Edge 8GB (Two fans) is around $842.
This is the cheapest RTX 3070, I don't think the more expensive RTX 3070 is just the fan.

Hey, thanks very much for sharing that. I missed that review and it was helpful to put the different cards into perspective.

Looking at the temp / dB values, I’d likely skip the Zotac and opt for something else.. the MSI if I can get my hands on one for a reasonable price. Once you hit the mid $900-1k ranges, then you get into 3070 Ti price ranges, which is another complication. I’ll look around the market and see what I can find, no rush as my CPU cooler will only arrive by 1st week August, so I’m buying parts for my new build slowly

With the recent drop of MSI RX6900XT to S$1.1K in shopee and lazada, RTX3070Ti at S$1K doesn't seems to be a good deal liao. For GPU, try to go for the highest you can afford, esp if you want to use your PC for a few years.

Yeah it's a bit of a dilemma for me right now. On the cusp of a 4000-series release with a (maybe) drop in price for the 3000-series. At the same time, unless my current 1440p monitor dies, I've no intention of switching to a 4k display, so a 3080 card would be overkill for me.

The price/performance of a 3070Ti vs 3070 isn't that great when you also consider a considerable increase of the TDP (220W vs 280W), so unless the prices of a 3070Ti and 3070 are very close, I probably wouldn't pay a significant premium for the 3070Ti over the 3070

3080 isn’t that much of an overkill if you intend to use RTX often in future games.
