Where to alter jeans/pants

Hello all,

I am looking for recommendations and suggestions (in 2024, i have searched many old posts and most of the info are no longer relevant or up-to-date anymore) for Clothes alteration services? I heard of Tet Tailor but i did a lookup and it says they are temporarily closed as well.

I have 2 jeans that i bought from Uniqlo that i want to alter in length, and quite likely the bottom hem as well. Only the length of the 2 jeans is the issue, the rest of the fitting in terms of the waist, front raise/fly, and width across the thigh / shin are all alright. They are not particularly very expensive pieces but that being said i still expect and looking out for decent/acceptable workmanship e.g the sew across the hem is straight and not crooked etc.

If you’re in the east, I regularly use Xin En tailor for my alterations. Sam is very experienced and does pretty good work for alterations

There should be a tailor / dry clean service in your neighbourhood that does this. Doesn't uniqlo offer altering service anyway

Well my neighbourhood does have 1 or 2 alteration places but i am not sure how trustworthy and reliable are their workmanship. Although my pants are not in the $100++ range, if i could help it then i wouldn't want to risk getting unsatisfactory results from tailors that are relatively unknown or don't have many (good, or positive) reviews. I mean afterall it still costs money too for both the pants and the alteration (a bad job means i'll probably need a new pair and try yet again to suit the look i am going for)

Uniqlo offers length alteration only but sometimes depending on how much you cut out the length, it can cause the bottom hem/opening to be a lot wider which gives off the bootcut look which is totally not what i am going for (imagine a slimfit/skinny jeans transforming into that). On the other hand, alteration-specialized tailors and shops usually offer services that can cater for both.

Try search on Lazada or shopee, there's a tape that allows you alter without going to tailor.

On Sunday, I went to Meng Yee in Far east plaza to alter my pant's length. Was charged $20. Is that the market rate now?
