where to buy barcode scanner?

thinking of buying a barcode scanner for scanning nric for my school project.

can claim the money back from school... budget is $150.

the barcode scanner needs to be able to connect to my laptop via usb.

any idea where to buy?

possible to get one with that budget?

i got some results from yellow pages online but they feel like companies which mass sell barcode readers to enterprises.

any shops, physical or online, that sells barcode readers to end users/consumers?

I have not seen in shops, but got buy from one of the companies in yellow pages. call them to enquire. The basic model good enough. Scan and number come out. Can use for spreadsheet to check against list
