Hi everyone, need help!

I can't boot up my old PC, suspect that the CPU might be faulty. Does anyone know of any shop that I can buy discontinued CPU?
Will I have any luck at Simlim?

I need this or something compatible:
LGA1155 Core i7 2600

Thanks in advance.

Could also be your mobo dead, but CPU still OK. I seldom -- in fact never -- hear of dead CPU.

Thing is that I can't even get to BIOS screen. Monitor totally no display at all. I don't have spare parts to test out, so my best bet is to get a refurbished CPU if I can. Got budget issues now, can't upgrade at this moment.

Maybe can bring your mobo, CPU and 1 stick RAM to Nigel (SLS, #02-32) to do basic testing. Just to confirm whether CPU or mobo (or both) is dead.

Your PSU sounds all right. Other parts no need to test.

It seems rather risky to buy another CPU without first identifying the problem. Anyway, a second-hand socket 1155 CPU ranges from 100 (i5-2500) to 250 (i7-3770K).

In my years of experience, CPU always the last to spoil one unless u tried to run it without any cooler or thermal paste on...

It is always the rams, mobo, gpu, hard-disk that spoil one...I got mobos with faulty DIMM or PCIE slots, rams failing memtest, HDD corrupted or spindle jammed n etc...

On a sidenote, my CoolerMaster PSU is running fine after 7 yrs of using...

Ok, what I did was I used a handheld vacuum cleaner to dust the heat sink fan. So, donch know if I had accident introduced some static and fried the CPU. So quite likely that it is the CPU is fried. Mobo light is on by the way.

If like Koenig168 said, the CPU ranges from $100 to $250, then seems like not worth it if I can even find it. I was hoping to spent $50 nia.

My old x58 mobo also same. Got light, fans all spinning. But no display. Took out ram, hdd also same. Suspect mobo since there isn't even any beep sound when post.
