Yeap NP is a good place to have your eyes checked. It is known to take around 1.5hours, but its a really thorough check with all the papers.

There are optical shops which provide free computerised tests too! ( 1 in simei B&W optics near MRT, and another optical shop along Tampines interchange )

I second that. As I have a fat face, so not all frames will fit. But some of the frames on foptics looks interesting.

Anyone know of shops that will do lens replacement and collection within the day itself? Or cheap deals with lens replacement also can.

For what I know, OwnDay do provide the service of lens replacement as well but it seems a little bit more costly.

I didn't like owndays service. I prefer more personalized service. I go to Hazel Eye Care in Bishan. The owner Hazel is really nice, she does very detail eye consultation for free and gave very professional advice since she's an optometrist, not just a regular optician. Totally not pushy and very thorough in explaining. I even had my eye pressure tested even though I was getting a simple pair of glasses for myopia. I appreciate the expertise and professionalism overall.
