I already have my frames. Just gotta do lenses. Anywhere in town can do cheap high-index lenses?
Be prepared to pay higher price for just the lenses as compared to those 'bundled' deals. I was contemplating doing the same that is to buy frames online and lenses locally but found out that most shops usually charge more for just the lenses and I gave up on the idea at the end.

Will be interested to know if there are places that can do lenses cheap if not bought together with the frame.

I was looking for this very specfic model of a brand that is not widely available locally. Limited edition and sold out all over. Locally, I only found the black/silver version and not the black/gold I wanted. Managed to snag it off Carousell in the end.

same situation as you.. looking for high index lenses for 2 frames i brought from korea recently

Did it at the neighbourhood optical shop. He's been my go-to shop for years but the prices are actually quite high. Anyway, I didn't want to waste time so just went there.

He's an authorized seller for Crizal, Hoya, Zeiss and others. I always did Crizal. But this time he was pushing for Hoya, he says it better and Crizal got many customer complaints. Apparently, the Crizal logo on the lens which was supposed to be almost invisible is too obvious in the newer generations. His words, not mine. Went for Hoya after this much persuasion. The difference was only $30 (After $30 discount).

Hoya lens have higher profit margin for optical shop according to my relative who owns an optical shop. That's why they keep pushing Hoya lens. And be aware some shop promise Hoya lens but give no brand lens. Always look for the Hoya logo on the lens.

I used Crizal and Hoya before and I like Hoya lens better much more scratch proof. I take care and use all my spectacles the same way, overall Crizal has many more fine scratches appear after some time. You can compare and see if you have the same experience.

Hoya really does have a better scratch coat.
As for shop pushing it depends on management decision generally one shop will support any one brand more based on the benefits as that point of time.
