I think thats the market price, Dylan, KBKS, Iris, etc all around that price. If not the next level its the cheaper tailor like sze sze, etc.
Got the "oxford tailor, peninsula tailors" tier as well between the "sze sze" and "dylan" tiers.

I think the "dylan" tier tailors would be canvassed construction by default (?) and "sze sze " tier fused and using wool-blends.

Would be good if others with knowledge can chip in on this and also comment on the differences between the so-called mid tier compared with the budget and upper tiers.

Workmanship alone is enough to separate KBKS/Dylan/Iris with the likes of the rest. You can definitely tell the difference. Although there are some out there that are cheaper (Not by a large margin) and equally good, if not better. ;)

And as far I know, KBKS and Dylan doesn't do fused suits/jackets. Only fully canvassed. Often with fused suits, quality is sacrificed and it's less durable.

At the end of the day, we all got to start somewhere. :)

Isn't KBKS more expensive than Dylan? Never been to KBKS as I always thought that they were more expensive. A trip to Dylan always pushes my budget to the limit...

But workmanship wise, how does the two compare?

PetiaC are you going? If you are what are you gonna wear? :D
I think I might just wear my uniqlo linen jacket and my denim pants from KBKS :)

I only have 3 jackets in various shades of navy. And I will be making my first suit .... in navy.

It's nvr not expensive with Dylan or KBKS.. :(
I mean, I wouldn't pay 1.2k for linen alone. Linen isn't suppose to cost more than pure wool.

I got quoted for 1150 for cashmere wool blend. Initially I thought that was expensive. When I hear yours... :(

Bro at that price, I doubt it contains any cashmere. Most likely poly-wool blend.

Whether or not it has cashmere is debatable. But poly wool blend, definitely not. Different book.

Or you can say I trust the tailor too much.

LOL!

probably 1 or 0.5% cashmere?

If its too good to be true, its probably not

So far, I've only tried his standard oxford shirts which go for around 130-140...did make a linen shirt last year, around 280..made a Testa cotton shirt this year, paid 290 for it...

The thing is, how do you guys know you haven't been ripped off along? ;)

He charges $950 for CMT for suits. I can get Halstead mohair fabrics for approx $500, meaning my suit is less than $1.5k. 1.2k for a linen jacket looks expensive at that point.

Commissioned a shirt recently from a local tailor. I'd like to get comments on it so that I know what to look out for in the future when I get other shirts done up.
Not going to reveal who it is yet so that the comments can be objective.

Please feel free to give comments! Apologies for the poor image quality. Taken with my phone front camera cos I had to take it myself.
