Well. Upgrade from 2GB to 4GB its like whoa!!!
especially now with RAM intensive browsers and applications..

Lol 2gb. Indeed ancient. Get any mid tier cpu with SSD, u would feel blazing fast. 4gb on my old pc and 8gb on current.

Stopped using chrome after it sits like 10gb+ of storage space on my ssd. It sucks and contains too much personal info. One day sure leak.

More ram or faster cpu. I think most would spend more on cpu than ram. Faster ram? Like 3600 4000 4133 4333? I feel they aren't even worth the price.

after 3600 its diminishing returns and exponentially more expensive, so 3200-3600 is the sweet spot for many.

First need to determine if motherboard still have spare ram slot. This will determine if he need to replace existing ram to higher capacity one or just add on with additional ram.

Need to check what type of ram your system is using right now. If you are looking to upgrade just 4gb i would guess its DDR3 ram, but i might be wrong. There are diff types of ram and DDR4 is the latest. If you current desktop uses DDR3 you can only add on DDR3 ram as the slots are different.

Just list to us the spec of your pc and ppl here can help you with it. Installing ram is actually quite easy, just that you need to match the rams correctly

Best get the exact part number, same brand, model, same speed can have different memory suppliers. eg, hynix, samsung, Micron. Worst case, u end up with a constantly blue screen system if the timing got screw up.

If not sure just buy kits... and sell the old RAMS...

IDK, that's what i used to do until one day suay suay hit the 1%... and pay the school fees to learn the lesson.

Since than only buy kits... very happy to spend a little bit more to avoid the blue screens...

well kits are always the safe bet since they are already been tested to work together.

but they are some just wanna try that 1% luck to get that timing
