No idea how they perform but if it's just aesthetics than the D92. The fan clips looks badass.

Now I also want to buy. lol

oh yah i saw this too. but all these CM coolers can use other fans or not?

That V8 model I don't think can cos of the design and shape is specific.

Their other tower coolers can. They mount using mount clips, and by default they give you another set of plastic clips in case you want to make it dual fan. Buy any 120mm fan of your choice, fix the 2 plastic clips with screw, paste the vibration absorber stickers and mount it straight.

Hi guys,

Quick question, with a budget of ~$55 which is a better air cooler for oc'ing 1st gen i7?

Cooler Master Hyper D92
http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-d92/
- DC (Direct Contact) heatpipe
- Dual 9cm fans (push & pull)

Deepcool Lucifer
http://www.deepcool.com/product/gamerstorm/2013-12/6_111.shtml
- 6 copper heatpipes
- 14cm fan
- Optional fanless, pushpull design

Open to other suggestions as well. Thanks!

just saw a quick benchmark video which puts the D92 slightly better than the legendary hyper 212. any cooler that can best the 212 is alright with me.

I bought the Cooler Master D92 yesterday for my new i5 chip, it has 2 fans on both sides. =:p

Hehe yeah. Was walking around SLS today then saw the dark knight within my budget range. Did some further research and it seems to be a better performer than the CM D92, Deepcool Lucifer, Hyper 212 Evo (using Frostytech site to compare). As a bonus, I also found out that there's a white edition of the cooler which will very nicely complement the white theme of my upcoming build. Hence, the hoot :D
Must be see the chio-ness then buy....
Yep2 as mentioned above :D

my 212 with a noctua fan in a node 304. clips can be removed and placed onto other fans.
