Visited the site you recommended but one does not need a BBA to become a marketer, real estate agent, financial advisor, commodities trader, loan officer, or entrepreneur. In most cases, an O level will suffice.

As for trying to be an accountant with a BBA. Good luck.

SMU Biz, NUS Biz, or NTU Biz?

SMU and NUS offer 4 years direct honors while NTU offers 3 years.

I do not really know about SMU so I will not elaborate much on it.

2 significant differences for NUS and NTU.

First, in NUS you get to choose your business specs (HR/Finanace/Biz Analytics/Econs/Operarions/Marketing). You can take multiple specs depending on your own curriculum plannning. You just need to have sufficient bidding point to get your spec.

As for NTU, your grades play an important role in getting the specialisation you want. Finance being the highest in demand.

Second, NUS (in general) allow you to S/U your module after obtaining your result. While NTU needa you to determine which module to S/U before they release the results.


Rigour wise, there is not much difference between the 3 unis.


But I must say SMU will train you to speak up the most!

ya.same thing like you dont need business degree to open business all those. those jobs not cert related but more to experience related in a way.. but still better to have one ah,for backup.

Very, very few professions explicitly require a degree for you to join.

For instance in Singapore, the Singapore Medical Council, Singapore Dental Council, and Ministry of Law maintains a specific list of eligible degrees.

For every other profession out there, you can join if you can find someone who is willing to hire you. Still, this does not derail from the fact that having relevant educational qualifications prepares you for the position.

Before someone points out Accountant / Engineer - these 2 are common misconceptions. You do not need to be a Chartered Accountant or Professional Engineer to take on most Accounting/Engineering jobs.

In order for engineering degree holders to be recognized by BCA for grade P, their engineering degree MUST be recognized by PEB Sg but did not needs to be a PE. So employer will never employ you as Engineer if you never meet BCA requirement.

Good point. Yup, you may add BCA to the list which maintains a list of recognized degrees.

I was referring to the profession in a broader sense, which does not dictate qualifications. (i.e you can be working in the engineering or accounting industry with only a few O level credits.)

Likewise, if you go into the specifics, to become a Public Accountant you DO need to hold one of the recognized qualifications.
