I need some recommendations, my old DIY pc died after 5 to 6 years of usage. I am getting new CPU but not going to DIY anymore, just buy a new one off the shelf.

I saw 3 at courts for sale, ASUS and HP.

http://www.courts.com.sg/Products/P...-INTEL-CORE-I54460-4GB-1TB-WIN-81-M32ADSG004S

http://www.courts.com.sg/Products/P...B-WIN-81-PAVILION-SLIMLINE-400336D-F7G30AAAB4

HP CPU INTEL CORE I7-4770 4GB WIN8.1 PAV SLIMLINE 400-265D (E9T63AA#AB4) Desktops - Courts Online Shopping

Which of these is a better purchase? ASUS cost 899SGD, worth buying the HP ones by paying 300 to 400 more?

I want to buy for multimedia purpose (HD movies & youtube) with occasional gaming, probably FIFA 15 or football manager type.

Priority is stable and reliable.

I supposed all desktop comes with WIFI car, i can just plug in my USB dongle for WIFI connection?

Graphics is only GDDR3 for all 3. ASUS set advertise as having AC wireless and both HP are only N wireless.

Main difference is case size, processor, HDD size and RAM. Both HP have 1TB more HDD but only the 1.3k set has 8GB RAM.

IMHO, just get the Asus set and upgrade your own RAM.

Asus support is shiat.

My hse have a 1yr 3 months old asus tower. 2 months ago got problem (keep show play screen , cannot boot to desktop , and kee restart ) called the support for help. The support mentioned that they need to contact the technical dept to book a date to come to my hse diagnose the problem. Waited 3 working days no call back. Called again they said they will contact again. Again no call back from them. Gave up and got an IT fren to help.

Asus support even asked me to do a survey after the call. Lol

My unfortunate encounter with asus support . 0/5 star

The CPU is overkill and the graphic card is shitty as hell.

WAY OVERKILL for normal usage like surf net, watch video, stream, etc. Basically you are wasting your money because the i7 will not even unleash 40% of its full potential for basic usage.
Its like buying a Lamborghini in Singapore, so much horsepower yet cannot speed in Singapore.

You don't need i7 if you are not going to do video editing, rendering, photoshop, etc.

SHITTY for playing graphic intensive game like BF4, Crysis, etc but okay for shitty graphic game like maplestory, dota2, etc. Will get decent frame rate for Fifa manager ALL LOW SETTING.

TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY.
You can go ahead if you want to save trouble.

In my opinion, i3 desktop with a $200 graphic card like GTX750TI total costing less than $800 will OUTPERFORM all the mentioned desktop in gaming and perform ON PAR in basic usage.

Don't anyhow spew nonsense okay!! Asus is #1 in SG, their slogan says it all: In Search of INCREDIBLE. :vijayadmin:

Dell. If you pay extra for NBD, really no horse run. Regular service not so bad, but like ThinkStation, NBD customers always get quick prioritisation

But they won't service for any "gaming performance" issue, just something to take note of

In fact your kind of usage even integrated graphics from Intel will suffice (yes you are not reading wrong).

Will actually advise you to take the Dell $599 desktop and add a cheap HD 7730 in if you want best of both worlds, i.e. convenience of off the shelve PC & real game-able pc from more powerful graphics card

CPU-wise, Intel Pentium is all you need. Quad core Core i5/i7 is superfluous, Core i3 is the maximum you should go.

Pentium or an i3 is more than enough for you. You dont even need the i5.

I3 is a dual core with hyperthread. Is fast enough for your usage.
