Playstation if you want ease of buying used current games and then resell. But starting next year, they will end physical discs and force you to buy only from their Playstore.

But if console prices shoot above $1k, then might as well buy PC which can easily find free games and ported old console exclusive games.

Basically the old logic was: console pay cheaper operating hardware, pay more expensive for games. PC pay more expensive operating hardware, pay cheaper for games. But PC online is free.
