Which GPU to choose? or does it matter?

Should be fine. You lose some performance and run hotter in exchange for the savings.

For budget cards, suggest you stick to Palit and Zotac for the 5-year warranty. I've had a couple of Zotac cards (Pascal) and the build quality was quite decent.

I don’t think it is a problem going with cheaper options. But there are some that I will not recommend due to poor cooler/ cooling performance, for example, Palit Dual. I know some people have mentioned that its fine. But I’ve tried it many years back, and the cooler is not up to my expectation. If you don’t want to spend too much, I think Zotac usually offers the best value.

Most of the premium is the brand.. A leather bag is a leather bag. Use higher quality leather maybe price increase by 10%. Slap on brand name Louis Vutton and price jumps 10x.

Only 2 things really matter, warranty to cover hardware problems and specs meeting your gaming needs. For example , It's stupid to pay for a low end "branded" card like Asus's ROG 3050 and play a game in 4K.

First timers, be careful of the cards you buy if you are using a 1440p monitor as they do need a more powerful aka more expensive graphic card to run at that native resolution...

So far I had Asus TUF Rtx 3070 Ti the fan noise and cooling is way better than the Zotac Rtx 3070 Ti OC trinity.
If you wanna used for long term can go for Asus Strix model, I heard is better cooling and performance then TUF model.

I think it all boils down to the pricing. You may have gotten it at a good pricing, but at this point, the TUF series is usually more expensive. Strix is even worst. In fact, I noticed that the Strix RTX 3070 Ti can cost almost as much as a Zotac RTX 3080 Trinity.

Cheaper the card it maybe unreliable in the long run.
Cheapest brand will be Zotac which most people are using but they give 5 years warranty.
Than MSI followed by Asus.
Asus wise can be very expensive, from Dual to TUF than to Strix.

STRIX is the high end model with certain neat features while TUF sits in the middle like
it's motherboard. Depend how much you want to spend, I would suggest go for MSI RTX 3070.
MSI got Ventus and Gaming X, Gaming X model will have better cooling than Ventus but it will cost more.

Yup, that’s why, I never buy any strix now.
Except I owned the RTX 3080 Ti FE and Asus Tuf 3070 Ti.

I would choose zotac 3080 over strix 3070ti if price is comparable.
The 5 years warranty for zotac made the choice easier too.

I find your question weird, to drive 1440p depend on what application you are using/game you play.
To have a smooth framerate it depend on your CPU as well as GPU.

Actually CPU is less important when driving 1440p. Unless of course one is using an old quad core processor, in which it may not be enough nowadays.

No issue, 3070 and 3070 Ti for 1440p at 2k monitor, it’s pretty good frame rates , 110fps no issue.
