Hey guys. Can y'all introduce and gimme some advice on which gpu to get? Was thinking of either getting the powercolor 7870 pcs+ myst or powercolor 7950 pcs+. Are these gpu good enough to play current games on high settings? Are there any other alternatives? My budget is below $450 for gpu.

Here is the specs I'm going for.

Case: NZXT SWITCH 810, $229
PSU: FSP 550W 80+ MODULAR, $139
MOBO and CPU: MSI B75A-G43 GAMING and i5 3470, $344
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE 1600mhz (2x4GB), $95
GPU: ???
ODD: SAMSUNG DVD RW, $25
HDD: WESTERN DIGITAL 1TB SATA3 64MB, $90
SSD: PLEXTOR M5P 128GB, $165

do u need such a big casing? gonna do custom water cooling?
otherwise a mid tower is more than enough.

define ur high setting?
for crysis 3 u need gtx780 or titan to play on very high setting...

7870 myst is slightly faster than 7950... hence more value for $..

7870 is faster than 7950? You mean they aren't in order with their numerical names? I thought the bigger the number the better the cpu is

typical 7870 is slower than 7950, but this 7870 myst is slightly faster than 7950..

7950 PCS+ (~16.6% more cores) would be slightly faster than MYST (~11.1% more clockspeed). And it would be much cooler and quieter simply because it has 2 fans on the heatsink while the MYST has only one.

Well to me the difference is quite clear. Best cost/performance is MYST, but if you are noise sensitive the 7950 PCS+ is great.

Buy the 7950 pcs+ since u have the budget as some shops is selling it at around $398. The wider bus memory and larger ram should make it more future proof, as shown it can be oc to stock 7970 level performance as shown in reviews :

1)PowerColor Radeon HD 7950 PCS+ review - Overclocking & Tweaking

2)PowerColor HD 7950 PCS+ 3 GB Review | techPowerUp

3)HIS Radeon HD 7950 HIS IceQ X2 review - Overclocking the graphics card

Buy the 7870 le version if u are more of a bang for buck person as the powercolor 7870 myst is selling for $312 (tradepac) way cheaper than Sapphire's 7870 xt @ $380 (PCtheme).

Personally i would buy the 7950 pcs+ to avoid buyer's remorse. You may regret ("oh darn, I wish I just got the 7950"), I probably would.

I decided to check the website and I was wrong about the clockspeed. MYST with boost is only clocked 10.8% higher than a PCS+ without boost. No boost state then just 5% faster. So PCS+ is unquestionably faster

So the 7950 pcs has better performance over the 7870 Pcs myst, am I right

I think deathsaurerxxx comment answered your question well enough.

Generic terms.. Myst is more or less equal to a generic 7950. Some game may be faster. But if you take those boost 7950. They are faster then Myst.

Depending on $$$$ getting those boost 7950 is better. Extra 1GB ram helps in AA and AF too.

Then what difference do they have other than price

when it comes to choosing mobo, its just what the mobo has to offer in terms of features. for e.g. it might have more SATA 3 connection or more USB 3 port or better sound quality or better power phases for better OCing experience.

there is very minimum performance gain when comparing high end mobo to budget mobo.
