Mainly use for school (pte uni). More on doing projects, seeing notes from microsoft powerpoint, words rather than print it all out.

Which inch of tablet is more suitable for this 10.1 or 11.6?

Considering either Ativ 11.6 or lenovo 10.1

Ativ tablets are too heavy. I'm not sure if there're plus points of using samsung but its just not for me.

I would prefer something lighter (like hp envy), more compact size like surface will be ideal. And you're interested only in MS?

These are 2 tablets with very similar specs and nearly similar size, only you can answer to yourself which size is more suitable for you. Its best that you go down and have a feel of the tablets for yourself.

I personally went through my course with just a EEE PC 10.1 Netbook, i never felt it to be small or inadequate for my projects, lectures etc. The only thing I wished was that it had a stylus input.

Between the 2 tablets though, I would go for the Thinkpad Tablet 2. During my time with it, I find the stylus to work better than the Ativ and the TP2 feels more balanced on the hand than the Ativ. Portability wise, they are nearly identical, but again I prefer the feel of the TP2.

But whether its the TP2 or Ativ, 1k+ for a netbook with stylus? Hard to swallow =(

Haha. Actually I am thinking if most of the time I am typing for my assignment when meet up with group mates, is 10.1 inch too small for me see and type (assume I am using the dock)

I use the VivoTab Smart with the sleeve and keyboard.

I do a lot of work in Excel and the 10.1 inch size is fine for me.

the main thing for me was a low price and a light weight. that I could use just the sleeve or pack in the keyboard to-go was what made the VivoTab Smart more attractive than a unit with docking keyboard

just bear in mind that the weight adds up when you carry everything.

VivoTab Smart - 580 grams
Transleeve - 155 grams
TransBoard - 250 grams

If I were to buy 10.1 inch, I think I will get lenovo instead as it came with a stylus.

I think for the time being I will wait for Window 8.1 tablet. Can't use to without the start button.
