hi all,

im thinking of getting a notebook for movies, light gaming (dota,FM) and such.
Wanna drop by IT show to take a look. looking at something along the ultrabooks series.

the 3 that im considering are,

Xps13, Surface Pro4, Zenbook 305.

Price: zenbook is cheaper coming at around 1200, whereas xps and SFP4 is around 1600.

all 3 are light, with pro having the advantages of functioning like a tablet, and pen and such.

Anything about the build quality i should know about? like Zen has no fan, gets hot when gaming, etc.

thank you very much. all comments appreciated.

Dont get surface pro 4. Using hybrid is awkward. Actual battery life is 3-4 hours, half of what microsoft claim

Get dell, better quality than asus

ux303ub has graphics card. Useful for light gaming

The rest you mentioned (xps13, sp4, ux305) don't

Note: there is a ux303ua that doesn't have graphics card also

Hmmm....actually I have the question of low end dedicated gx card like 940 compared to Intel graphics....heard there isn't much difference. ( not so sure what's the difference between Intel 5500 and 520)

I torn over the sturdy build and conventional laptop feel on the Xps13, slightly bigger screen
Vs
The portability of pro together with the pen for quick note taking or doing quick workings when I doing work.

I personally prefer the Microsoft SP4 here for its versatility and my usage pattern. However, its probably one of the most pricey of the 3 if you consider the higher end config + the type cover. The Dell XPS is likely not far away, depending on the config that you are eyeing.
I am not a big fan of the Asus UX305 (if this is the model that you are looking at) because of the processor used. Its likely very weak when it comes to gaming as well, so you may want to find another alternative.
