Which option to downgrade IP?

Suppose you are on the best plan for a IP with a rider (eg AIA healthshield max A with its rider).

Premiums for both the IP and rider are rising and assume you are thinking of downgrading. Would you :

1) stick with the top IP but drop the rider ; or

2) downgrade to the next best IP (eg AIA healthshield max B) and get the corresponding rider?

Personally, I will drop to Max B and get the corresponding Rider.

Why? Because I still get full coverage for Gov hospitals. Even though i believe we will all prefer Private, in your case, staying at Gov hospitals for full coverage isn't that bad too
