Lian Li Lancool 216 ARGB ATX Case BLACK + FSP HYDRO G PRO 850W FULL MODULAR 80+ GOLD ATX 3.0 PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR for $288

OR

Lian Li Lancool 216 ARGB ATX Case White +Msi MAG A750GL-750W ATX3.0 Pcie5 80+ Gold for $260

Not sure if I want to fork out $28 more for the better PSU

for 100w more power capacity and 3 years longer warranty, i think that $28 premium is very well worth it. not to mention the hydro g pro has been established to be a top tier psu, while the a-gl series from msi is unproven as it is very new on the market. given that u are considering a 750w-850w psu, u probably are looking at a pretty expensive high power system overall, and to that i say dont skimp on the psu.

That’s why I preferred all accessories to be black, no need to worry about dirt and dust.

isn't the white case nicer?
then the conversation shifts from value of psu to aesthetic taste, which is a lot more subjective. personally i wouldnt even look at full atx cases, but to each their own. if u already have eyes for the white case then that combo is not a bad choice either, chances are the msi psu isnt too shabby with its 7y warranty.

I actually do not care about colour, the issue is now the $288 deal does not exist anymore as the black case is OOS everywhere and now I have to buy the white case.

Guess I will wait a week for it to restock.

Please DO NOT save some money by scrimping on the PSU. I rather you buy a cheaper case since it is mostly about the aesthetics. You get a bad PSU and you will get more issues down the road. In any case, I personally don'd find both PSUs that you selected to be good options.

To be honest, i rather get the FSP HYDRO G PRO 850W FULL MODULAR 80+ GOLD ATX 3.0 PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR over any corsair gold psu. :s13:

Seriously none of you guys even mentioned that the quality of a PSU isn't just about the number of watts it can give?

i did hint that the fsp unit is preferred as it is a top tier unit (which in my mind automatically translates to better quality). to add on, psu quality also does not depend on brand: corsair makes junk tier units while gigabyte does sell decent units.
Share please thanks.
the best way to determine quality of a psu is by searching up reviews of the specific psu u are looking at. and not just """reviews""" that build a system with it and says it power on ok, but reviews that actually teardown the psu and test various parameters of its power output like ripple, protections and voltage regulation. if u cant find reviews, then u can fall back on the psu tier list here:
https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/a good rule of thumb is to not skimp on the psu. locally there are units that are priced quite cheaply that make good quality ones look like bad deals when looking at power output alone, but u cant really go wrong with psus in the $150-$250 bracket in terms of quality, warranty length and in some cases value.

i think they had the 850w strix one at a good price like 2 months ago... 180-185 something... now i am not sure...

I did look at the 850W Strix but the price is north of S$300 now .....

At that price-point, we should be looking at Platinum/Titanium PSUs.

Strix pricing go up and down one. Some shops are selling for S$1XX now but some are selling for S$3XX.

interesting, dynacore lists the 750w and 850w at 149 and 185 respectively on its price list, with the price for the 750w reflected on its website (noted as sales price).

I was looking at the Strix 850w one too. If I’m not wrong the regular 850w Gold one is at 18x, the 850w Gold Aura is the one at 3xx+ that’s atx 3.0 compliant?
