Why Cant My Computer Detect My Mic?

What mobo and mic/headset u using?

At the taskbar, under your volume icon, right click and choose playback devices. Under recording tab, choose the mic that is plugged in. Right click on it and set it to default communication device.

Also, make sure its plugged into the right hole. If not sure, consult the manual.

High chance its ur settings. make sure its set on default as the communications device. Do that for windows and skype. Also, make sure its in the correct hole.
