$696k a year.

To be in the top 1% of earners in Singapore, you would need to earn S$696,000 annually. This figure represents an increase compared to the 2021 Economic Freedom Index findings, which examined annual earnings in Singapore as of the end of 2020.

Well the minister are higher so i guess where that went...

But the sad truth is that since 2008, Net worth for median have stagnant or even dropped while average networth have more than doubled. This is not accounting for inflation for the past 17 years... So for those at median or lower all even more jialat.

The best eg can be seen from the article, The top 1% actually made SG rank #4 in the global ranking. But if we see median ranking for wealth, we are only #23 position. Its such a big disparity

Rich get richer.
But this is from earnings. Not passive income or investments.
$696k a year. That's only $58k pm.

no normal job will pay out 50k a month, unless its scam or money laundering job hahaha. Or you grow weed.

What do you mean or not mean by "normal job"?

I would say most jobs don't pay so much of course. But it doesn't mean it has to be something illegal.

I don't grow weed either.

Normal job means one where u meet ur boss on a fixed 9 to 5. I dont include property agent all those.

Only successful entrepreneur can hit such income in per month basis.

Oh you mean like an employee.

CEOs are employees as well. CEO also got boss. Kind of fixed 9 to 5 maybe even more hours.

I think you mean usual run of the mill type of job.

I know people who are not successful entrepreneur earning $70k a month. But are self employed.

My base salary plus bonus is more than 50k a month. Sorry I wont reveal more of what I do as I do not want to expose myself. How i get there is not linear...matter of luck as in being in the right industry or being there at the right place and right time (when there is promotion opportunity) and given a lot of opportunities at work (given more exposure). Of course, i stepped on a lot of landmines at work too, especially when I was much younger. I learnt from the mistakes that I made. I think luck plays a big part and ironically, the fact that I am born poor helps in a way (because my deprived childhood , not only make me more resilient but that also honed my ambitions to achieve material comfort).

I also agree that luck plays a part. Sometimes didn't realize that something could be so lucrative. Until try.

Normally i do not like to reveal so much of myself in public forum. But sharing this because i read of so many people "struggling" in the forum and wanted to let people know that sometimes, setbacks are actually blessings in disguise and you do not know how some "setbacks" will propel you forward in a positive way in your life journey (for me, for eg, I was retrenched before and from that experience, i learned that job is unstable and i have to make myself "marketable". Also, because i was retrenched, i landed up in another company that gave me a lot of opportunities). Also, never underestimate the part that luck plays, so have to be grateful to the universe as well when life is smooth for you, and do not think it is solely because you are so good. Also, most importantly, must learn to create your own luck. Eg, take risks, seize opportunities, and have the "just do it" mentality and also learn to ask for what you want.
