Hi everybody here, would hope u can as a consumer be a fair judge on this unpleasant online purchase I did yesterday.
[SIZE="3"Yesterday, I bought a 2nd hand mobile from a online shop ( PC Dreams / Laptop Factory Outlet ). It is a Samsung Model. Note 10 plus
Basically this shop gave me quite a good image as on website,
1. They give 14 days exchange policy,
2. The price they sold are the lowest according or by each particular model, specs
, conditions etc. or a price difference will be refunded.
I bought the mobile and booked a courier service to get the phone for me. When the courier handed me the parcel, he said " better not get or buy from this shop anymore.
Me: Why would usaid that.
Courier: This shop is not trustworthy and is using sales tactics to sell their's products.
Me: I got more confused so I open the package. In the bubble wrap was the phone I purchased. The correct model the right color. But, there's no accessories with it. Totally NONE. Not even the original adapter or the charging USB cable. Courier: When I did the collection, I did ask the staff over there as I find it weird that a mobile phone even though is a 2nd hand, does not come with a charger / cable or earpiece. But the staff generally replied me,No, just this.
When I reached home, I sent a WhatsApp message to the shop company phone. Did not replied me and yes the shop should be close so I thought I will just hear from them tomorrow. In my mind I was thinking maybe they just left out or forgot to put it in.
This morning, I got a replied.
Shop: All our products do not come with accessories.
Honestly, this explanation was ironic and ridiculous to me.
ME: Does your company/shop state in any clause, terms and conditions, info of the products page i bought or in any possible ways to let us or consumers know of that the products don't come with any accessories?
Shop: No.
Me: We as a normal consumers,would not know if you did not state it. It is quite unfair to us.
Shop: We did not state that it come with any accessories also
This replied really get me on my nerves...
Me: If I woild to sell you a car, after u purchase and I deliver it to u. It does not have a seat or a steering wheel. Will u accept it?
( Although it may be a different category product, it is still logical
. )
Shop: Why not say does not come with petrol ?
Me: It is unreasonable as petrol isn't logical .it should be paid by the consumers. It does bot come together when sold.
Shop: It is the same when u said charging cables and adapters.
I find that it is not going anywhere for this conversation. I stopped it and did a survey. Basically 3 main points.
1. Does shop need us to give the original accessories if we sell ot trade in.
2 If does not what would shops do.Do they deduct the selling price / trade in price if I sell without accessories.
3. Does Shops provide original accessories when they sell it to us consumers?
I asked some popular and reputable mobile shops dealing with 2nd hand mobiles and trade in. Eg;
1.Red White Mobile
2. Why Mobile
3. LITE Mobile
4. J2 Mobile
The conclusion:
1. Yes, all shops said they need all original accessories that come with the phone.
2. They will deduct the buy in price if no or short of original accessories.
3. All of the shops provides the original accessories that come with the phone. If it really does not, they will state it on the items info clearly so that consumers will see and know of it.
I will attached the conversations with the above said Mobile Shops as it is pointless to said without proof.
Let me ask u guys, hope to hear your answer.
1. As a layman consumers, do you expect that even though it is a 2nd hand it does not even come with a charging cable , adapter?
2. Will u know if the shop did not state it in any form or method?
3. Will you consider that the shop is using "Scamming / Cheating/ Unfair Sales tactics to sell theirs products?
4. Do you think the shop should compensate ?( Not unreasonable one of cos. Example if I need buy a charger , adaptet , earpiece myself as u need a phone for work urgently) [/SIZE]
