I've always advocated NS for girls.

TFR is poor. Not all new citizens perform NS.

I learnt yesterday the gender of a baby is determined by man. Only man carry the chromosome that eventuate into a baby boy or baby girl.

If we do not have enough boys for NS, is our SG male genetic profile the issue? More girls are born than boys.

Perhaps we import better male profiles for mating with SG girls to produce baby boys?

Automation is not the only solution to alleviate manpower shortage.

NS will be obsolete within 10 to 15 years because humans will never be able to compete with a Humanoid AI army.

Even those cheap G1 robots can do somersaults now, and they already have fingers, which means robots theoretically can already operate weapons today. In a few years, they will get smarter and more agile with so much money pouring into making them better. Right off the production line, future robots will shoot better and have better threat detection than humans, even in close combat, hand-to-hand combat, humans probably also won't stand any chance.

The data is there. Addressing it surgically is dicey and sensitive. No winners. The government has the data. But they are dancing around the frills and details. Who dares to point-by-point discuss.

It is sensitive becoz the data doesn't make sense... increased population even with decreasing birth rate and higher girls ratio doesn't fully explain the decreasing NS pools... there are other factors that the gahment is hiding... or unwilling to reveal... and with that we are left to speculate and guess whats the cause... and it doesn't help at all with the current polarized society...
