Was searching for DDR4 RAMs & notice that the prices are so skyhigh now. For example what i bought for 4 years ago (DDR3 only) now cost 150% more! :s31: :s31:

Got money then you also wont have issue if amazon doesn't ship here. Can still ship to other US address and ship back here, no?

RAM prices go up and down. There was a glut earlier so prices went very low. Now we have a shortage so prices are up.

My order of Avexir DDR4 from Amazon got cancelled because Amazon could not get any stock. :s22:

You got money of cos you can. I see your contradicting replies. Got money also cannot buy from amazon cos they never ship here for me is nonsense. :)

depends on your perception
got $ doesn't mean anyhow spend
obviously get the easiest/cheapest/most direct route
what i meant was don't mind paying a bit more it there is easy/most direct availability

Yes, but shipping to other US address and back might be cheaper or ard the same as amazon own shipping rate. Worth a try anyway. :)

agree but warranty wise not sure how it going to work out
with all the ram problems now better to go with local warranty
or approved amazon method

Don't think there is any motherboard around in the market that allows mixing of rams. Don't get your hopes too high up on mixing rams.

Either way even if u are able to mix rams, they will run at the lower frequency (ddr3 should be 1600) and I'm not even sure how ddr4 rams with minimum 2133 MHz would run at 1600 :s11: looks like u paying ddr4 price to get ddr3 performance

Should be can if your motherboard allows mixing of rams

The mobo will use the fastest SPD profile on the weakest stick, check if the profile is available on all sticks before applying it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_presence_detect

If you check hwinfo64, you can do a dump of all SPD profiles preloaded into its SPD chip.

XMP RAMs have both auto-initialised SPD profiles and manually activated SPD profiles (XMP in marketing language)

Example from Crucial Ballstix DDR4-2400 (JEDEC, not XMP)
