Why Are Some Dinner Threads Consolidated?

Hi mods, just wanted to clarify the policy regarding dinner/food threads.

Recently, several of my dinner threads were consolidated into a single thread. I have since deleted that consolidated thread, but I noticed that other members appear to be able to start separate threads for individual meals without them being consolidated.

For example, if I search posts by xboxfugitive using terms such as “humble”, there seem to be multiple separate food/dinner threads rather than one consolidated thread.

Could the mods advise what the criteria are for deciding when dinner threads are consolidated? More specifically, is there a way I can post individual dinner threads in future without them being merged into one thread?

I’m happy to follow whatever the forum guidelines are — I’d just like to understand how I should structure my posts so that they are treated the same way as similar threads from other members.

Consolidation of threads is a trend in the forum nowadays. At times even anyhow consolidate unrelated threads together.

so maybe I should create a EDMW Dinner Thread? EDMW Lunch Thread?

I created a EDMW Retirement Thread but I don't see them consolidating all the retirement topic threads.

So there is a basis for which they decide on this. Would like to know what the terms are so I understand how to post.

Threads of similar nature are merged together for purposes of continuity and in particular, if they are posted consistently (e.g. daily, every couple of days). My view is that this can be consolidated into one to be a central thread repository of Dinners where discussions can be continued rather than be scattered across different threads.

If it’s overly frequent in nature, some of our forum community members do bring it to our attention on what they regard as thread spam which raises the question “why not consolidate? “

If such threads are created weeks / months apart to celebrate a special occasion or to share a makan place lost and found it should be fine and not be subjected to the same merger rule.

We are open to your suggestion to create an edmw dinner thread. However, we will not move threads into it. Some foodies follow different users by the food they post (delicacies or plain absurdity /monstrosity).
Hence, we have not grouped all food threads into a single thread.
