My pt is to address the earlier pt from a forumner that not all abuse is the same.

in the past, abuse more frequent and intense, wife had to suck it up. Nowadays, say just a slap, will trigger a chain of reactions which includes high likelihood of divorce.

reading it together with my original comments, things likely not as ‘jialat’ compared to the past but it’s the empowerment of women now that increases their likelihood to call for divorce.

Just like u know u can easily find another job or can do away with the job, u’ll likely quit more readily when things not in your favour.
