Why govt always talk about polytechnic and ITE

Also, those jobs u see on ch8 news are always those blue collar manual labour jobs that many young people don't want. Why they seldom mention going to uni?

Because lots of FTs with dubious begrees are coming in to fill top jobs.
However not everyone can take top jobs. Sinkieland still need foot soldiers to do bottom jobs.
Since sinkies are rooted here, with hdb and loans, they are quite helpless and are perfect to victimize to be the foot soldiers.

Cos govt want to follow the Germany education model whereby engineering university is called something like ITE-polytechnic here. Just like, a diploma actually means an academic qualification in general, no matter what the level.

But even tho the govt always intend to follow the German model, to an extent of creating the ASPIRE group to travel to Germany to study their academic system, but end up, SG itself didn't adopt the German policy.

The govt should just re-name polytechnic and ITE as "engineering university" while the local unis should re-name as "academic university". This is what we call the real German system.

But what did Singapore do? They created SIT campus in punggol and name UniSIM as the next local uni

for an example Poly open house..

those blur blur O level students ..listen blindly to those Poly lectures...claim oh choose Poly good..

can go to work after grad ...salary also better than those from JC grad...etc etc...

( Irony these lectures are former JC grad who study in local Uni , even their kids if possible can go JC they will urge their kids choose JC instead go Poly . If results not say good cannot go JC than LPPL their kids go Poly )

Same apply to those MP and Minister...they also former JC grad.

Same apply for your boss ...even those in public sectors , stats board.

those higher on top are Formely JC grad and from Local Uni than upgrade go over sea famous uni for Master even PHD .

Just like those white elites ask u to work hard to prevent ur lunch being snatched away by foreigners.. but they themselves, nothing happens to them even if got ppl die from Hep C virus under their ministry and they can say lets move on, dun cultivate blame culture and continue getting their millions $$$ salary

I can say , Govt want to " mix and match" local + foregienrs

Put your self as a boss ..

you open a company what's your agenda? Profit of course right?

when come to man power , isn't best to get those cheap workers , who ask little salary ?

No doubt there are rules ..on employment ...local ratio vs foreigners inside a company.

Still company agenda is employ cheap worker.

That why you see Big Companies shift their plants to China , Indonesian , Vietnam , etc ...because there , a lot of cheap labour.

next their population is big , so no problem getting cheap labour no matter what.


whereas in SG population is there...Max....no matter how many foreigners SG gov want to take....and want to squeeze...there is a Limit ...as our land is limited....unlike Big countries..

next our aging population is increasing.

That why SG now U turn go into IT ....

IT use less man power

IT still in need no matter what and is the future...as long Internet is there.

from Online business , to i banking , etc all using Internet .

A lot appliances also integrate with IT


Next Gov also testing , implement smart home...which already testing at punggol , etc

in future All new housing will become a Smart Home.

No need every time go Hospital check out...

just remember to turn on your web cam and hospital App ,

and check your health via online.


etc etc.

This will cut less man power needed...as most things can be automative...

like a job need 5 person....in future just need 1 or 2 can liao.

Because most entrepreneurs come from ITE and poly, by choice or not dun say. Uni grads trend to stick to safer routes
