Why mobo maker still put PS/2 & parallel ports?

As above. Why ah? I can't even find a device that uses them anymore. These ports are forever sitting there unused.

Why not cut them out totally and give us more USB ports, like minimum 6 to 8 ports behind?

I see nowadays like only sell USB keyboards n mices. No longer seeing PS2 keyboard n mices being sold.

Parallel, serial n ps2 ports may still be used, but they are quite rare today from what I see.

My grandfather always says, if things are not spoiled don't just any how throw it away. So, even if motherboard spoiled, I still have many working PS/2 keyboards... so the PS/2 ports on the new motherboard will allow me to keep the PS/2 keyboards instead of just throwing them away while they still function perfectly well...

Recent mobos that feature parallel /serial ports are h or b boards that target business end users. And sometimes these customers need to use these ports, so thats why its still there

because when times that bios/windows cannot detect keyboard PS2 Ports will still work.

old does not mean useless. take the old serial port for example. it is used for jtag reflash a bad flash

There are always niche users needing them for legacy hardware.....

So far i only see 1 model on every entire platform lineup over the past few years. So what's the fuss about? Not that there isn't enough choice for buyers who only seek modern connectors...

No n-key rollover on USB. This is why I went with asrock e4m instead of maximus v gene even though the v gene was way much sexier. Contemplated about switching to v gene many times but the lack of PS/2 port stopped me.

Anyway if you want your 6-8 USB ports at the back, there are literally shitloads of boards out there that has them right now, so whats the fuss?

These ports all along are pin connector on the I/O card, especially the Super I/O 3rd/4th COMM port and 2nd parallel port on the AT form factor motherboard using ISA bus. These ports soon became soldered onboard with the introduction of the ATX form factor.

Now, they are back to the AT era having them on pin connector on the motherboard instead of standalone I/O card.

I see... what I meant was that nowadays because of the need to provide DVI/HDMI/VGA ports and many USB ports, the rear I/O panel no longer has space for the serial and parallel ports. But they still exist as pins on the motherboard to be used as necessary via a PCI bracket with the cable.

its only on low end models targeted at business users. In some business they still have old dot matrix printers using parallel or devices on serial ports.
