You need to have season parking... So not free... Within GRC then yes..

School is the primary reason... If too much bto... Also need to ballot...
Bto they also select the choice units first.

Kill time. Especially for retirees, know who are your neighbours.

When there are wrong doings seen in a grassroots organisation, it is important that anyone (no matter what rank) in that organisation should point out to correct the wrong doer. There should be an official department in PA to let grassroot leaders report any case they have observed while remaining anonymous. The moral values of grassroots leaders must be held high.

From what I see, most people do it for their children, the ones who don't have children do it out of volunteer spirit. The other benefits really aren't worth the weekends you have to burn.

Free parking on top of the HDB season parking you're already paying for, discounted season parking of $22 if you don't have an HDB season parking. BTO and primary school balloting priority are only available for volunteers who have been around for over 2 years.

Networking could be valuable, but most of the people you meet are your neighbourhood aunties and uncles, you think the grassroots advisers and ministers have time to network with you? To get to that point, you'd have to take up more responsibilities and key appointments in events which means you burn even more of your already limited personal time.

As a business owner, it's a lot easier to just sponsor PA events if you want to get to know the higher ups.
